Maison des Chercheurs

  • Client: Administration communale de Dudelange - Université du Luxembourg
  • Net surface: 429 m2
  • Location: Dudelange, LU
  • Status: Completed 2019

A former grocery store in Dudelange has been transformed into a new accommodation for researchers and doctoral students at the University of Luxembourg, the Maison des chercheurs. The Maison des chercheurs benefits from a central location, close to the René Hartmann sports center, the city center with its shops, restaurants and cultural activities, but also public transport to reach the University and the rest of the country. The building has nine individual rooms of 20 to 24m² equipped with a bathroom. The kitchen and the living room are common and are located on the ground floor, on a surface of 46m². The occupants also benefit from the terrace and the garden. This new university residence was made possible following the signature of a framework cooperation agreement between the City of Dudelange and the University of Luxembourg, which provided for the possibility of extending the park of university residences in Dudelange. The Maison des chercheurs thus completes the existing offer with the Maison des étudiants, which will open in September 2014 and has 14 rooms. The management of the House of Researchers and the selection of its occupants is the responsibility of the University of Luxembourg, as tenant of the building.
